FIEGE maintains sustainability drive by growing its fleet of electric trucks
FIEGE is resolutely driving the changeover to electric trucks. The Greven-based logistics company continues to invest in sustainable transportation and has purchased six new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600. This makes tomorrow’s long-haul traffic even more sustainable.
Movement goes electric: Fiege has added a further six heavy-duty electric trucks to its fleet. Next to the current eight vehicles by Volvo and Designwerk, a further six eActros 600 will be on the road for the logistics company from Greven in Westphalia in the future. The battery-powered long-haul truck by Mercedes-Benz was voted International Truck of the Year 2025 at last year’s International Motor Show by a jury of experts. Fiege will be using the vehicles at its branches in Rangsdorf, Unna, Bremen and Bocholt for clients operating in a range of industries.
Felix Fiege, Co-CEO of the FIEGE Group who has been running the fifth-generation, over 150-year-old family business with his cousin, Jens Fiege explains: “It is our vision to hand over a climate-neutral company to the next generation. This remains our overarching goal, and it is therefore our mission to develop sustainable logistics solutions together with our clients. Decarbonising the transport industry constitutes a key pillar which we will continue to invest in. We are faced with major challenges in the transport sector, and here in particular for long-haul traffic. Our new electric trucks will support us in further reducing our CO2 emissions, for us to meet our ecological responsibility as a logistics company.”
The new eActros 600 features trailblazing technology for the heavy-duty electric truck sector and was designed specifically for long distances. Their batteries provide a net capacity of 621 kilowatt hours, giving vehicles a reach of up to 500 kilometres while transporting a cargo load of up to 26 tonnes. Its Combined Charging System (CCS) facilitates fast charging at up to 400 kilowatts.
Stephan Wittenbrink, Managing Director of FIEGE’s Transport business unit, says: “We purchased our first electric truck a good two years ago. Since then, we have gathered extensive hands-on experience with the vehicles in various regions and different client situations. We are excited to be growing our international e-fleet by six second-generation eActros 600, to a total of 14 heavy-duty electric trucks. The expansion of our e-fleet plus the increased use of alternative fuels such as bio-CNG, bio-LNG and HVO100 forms a further crucial step in our decarbonisation strategy.”

The electric trucks are funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) as part of the funding program for climate-friendly commercial vehicles and infrastructure (KsNI). The funding guideline is coordinated by NOW GmbH, and applications are approved by the Federal Logistics and Mobility Office (BALM).
