Battery Storage Greven-Reckenfeld

With the new battery storage system from Voltfang, a company in which FIEGE also holds a stake, we are making an important contribution to a more reliable and sustainable energy supply. The system uses decommissioned battery modules from electric vehicles, giving them a second life within our operations.
With a capacity of five megawatt hours, it stores the solar energy generated by our photovoltaic system during the day and makes it available when needed with an output of 2.4 megawatts. This increases self-consumption, reduces reliance on grid electricity, and creates additional economic potential.
The battery storage system is therefore a key building block of our future energy ecosystem.

Photovoltaics in Greven-Reckenfeld

At the Greven-Reckenfeld site, FIEGE has significantly expanded its existing photovoltaic system. Around 7,000 PV modules are now installed across a total roof area of 28,000 square meters, delivering a combined capacity of approximately 3,000 kilowatt peak.
The system generates up to 2.4 gigawatt hours of green electricity annually – enough to supply around 700 households. Around 20 percent of the generated energy is consumed directly on site, while the surplus is fed into the public grid.
With this second expansion phase, FIEGE has nearly tripled the system’s scale, laying the foundation for its own independent energy ecosystem. In addition, the first battery storage systems are planned to reduce peak loads and further increase self-consumption.
