FIEGE expands healthcare location in Münster

Münster Hessenweg

FIEGE is set to build another logistics centre in the industrial estate on Münster-Hessenweg. Right next to the existing healthcare location, a modern single-user centre with more than 10,000 square metres of logistics space is being built. The new building designed by FIEGE Real Estate caters to the specific requirements of the pharma industry and scores with energy-efficient building services.

The logistics company FIEGE is expanding its capacities at its location on Münster-Hessenweg. On the piece of land right next to FIEGE’s existing healthcare logistics centre, an ultra-modern property is being built in close co-ordination with a prospective customer from the pharmaceutical sector. Next to the convenient traffic infrastructure, the proximity to pharmaceutical production sites as well as the regional offer of skilled labour speak for the expansion. Construction is expected to start in August 2026.

The property is being developed by FIEGE Real Estate. The building comprises around 9,800 square metres of logistics space, a 1,000+ square metres-large mezzanine level as well as 430-square-metres-large office area. LED lights and an air-to-air heat pump vouch for an energy-efficient operation. This is rounded off with a charge point infrastructure providing a capacity of 200 kilowatts for electric trucks and a rooftop photovoltaic array generating around 1,000-kilowatt peak which is to cover a substantial share of electricity demand directly on site. Also, the technical infrastructure is designed to grow as needed in the future.

Completion is scheduled for June 2027. FIEGE is aiming to obtain a Gold certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the new building. Jens Fiege, Co-CEO of the FIEGE Group who has been running the over 150-year-old family business with his cousin, Felix Fiege, explains: “We have been at home on Münster-Hessenweg for many years. It’s where we oversee logistics for many companies from the healthcare sector. We are excited to be building yet another, ultra-modern property, to further expand our capacities. The successful development of our existing location demonstrates the potential and performance capability of the location in Münster. With this additional logistics centre, we are now establishing the requirements to support our customers from the healthcare segment with even greater flexibility, to facilitate further growth.”
