F-LOG Ventures invests in robotics start-up Filics

F-LOG Ventures, the venture capital fund of the FIEGE Group, has joined Filics‘ financing round totalling €13.5 million. The Munich-based robotics company specialises in autonomous pallet transport and aims to continue growing.
Fresh capital: Robotics start-up Filics has successfully secured €13.5 million in growth financing. In addition to existing investors Capnamic and 10x Founders, the Munich-based technology company has also gained new partners such as Sandwater, Alven, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and F-LOG Ventures, the VC fund of logistics service provider FIEGE. Gregor Kolls, co-founder and CEO of Filics, explains: “With this new round of financing, we are taking the next big step in our growth strategy. Thanks to the strong support, we can further optimise and scale the technology. The trust of our investors is both a tailwind and an obligation.”

With the "Filics Unit", the start-up that was founded in 2021 has developed an autonomous transport unit consisting of two omnidirectional robots. The particularly flat double skid system is specially designed for handling Euro pallets and mesh boxes, which it can move and lift independently. The flexible robots reduce the space required for manoeuvring to an absolute minimum. In this form, the Filics solution is unique worldwide.
Filics intends to use the now completed growth financing to drive forward its product development and scale its business model internationally. The goal is to make the "Filics Unit" available for floor block storage by the end of this year and to prepare for entry into additional European markets by 2026. Bernhard Gold, responsible for FIEGE's Ventures division, states: "With its robotics solution, Filics addresses key challenges in the logistics industry, such as the shortage of skilled workers, capacity bottlenecks and autonomous transport in confined and complex environments. We see great potential – both in the innovative technology and in the motivated team behind it. We are therefore delighted to be able to accompany Filics on its journey with F-LOG in the future."
