Axia Best Managed Companies Award 2019 for Fiege

Medium-sized enterprises under outstanding management recognised by Deloitte, WirtschaftsWoche and BDI

Greven/Düsseldorf, 13 May 2019. Fiege has been awarded the Axia Best Managed Companies Award 2019. The auditing and consulting firm, Deloitte, together with the German trade journal WirtschaftsWoche and the BDI, the Federation of German Industries bestow this award and hallmark of excellence on medium-sized companies whose outstanding management sets them apart. The exceptional achievements of Fiege and other award winners were honoured during the official awards ceremony held in Düsseldorf on 9 May with an audience of over 220 guests from the fields of business, politics and the media. Hendric Fiege, Director Corporate Ventures at Fiege, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“This award is a wonderful acknowledgement of our work and our strategic orientation which aim to create a customer-centric and innovation-driving culture within our organisation”, said Hendric Fiege during the awards ceremony in Düsseldorf. Asked about what motivated the Fiege family business, Hendric Fiege replied that there was a high willingness amongst all employees to constantly question their doings, to continuously improve process flows, to give a new approach a chance and to pursue new paths together.

Exceptional achievements in key corporate segments

The Axia Best Managed Companies Award is dedicated to medium-sized German enterprises with an annual turnover of a minimum 150 million euros. Achievements from within the four key corporate segments of strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment as well as finance and governance all flow into the evaluation.

The initiators praised the outstanding quality of the 16 winners during the awards ceremony held in Düsseldorf on 9 May: All award-winning companies have defined a strategic vision which is communicated to all levels within their respective organisation. 81 per cent apply clear-cut innovation management to identify new business ideas and fields. Also, 75 per cent of the award winners persistently work to improve their corporate culture, which they deem strategically relevant and crucial for their success. 81 per cent even have an external supervisory or consulting board.

In doing so the company contributes to Germany’s economic future as a business hub, acting as a role model for other enterprises”, emphasises Lutz Meyer, partner and head of Deloitte’s Mittelstand programme.
