- Lewis Helget
- shift leader
- with FIEGE since 2011
MR HELGET, WHERE DID YOU LEARN YOUR PROFESSION?
At Rhein-West, they handled operations for the entire Ratio group. Because Fiege’s co-operation with Rhein-West went so well, I was taken over when Ratio was sold. For one year I worked here in the warehouse. Then I was asked to man the first department as team leader.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING FOR FIEGE?
It’s been nine years now.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE ABOUT YOUR WORK?
Many doors are open to you at FIEGE. You are always given new opportunities. I am indeed very proud to be here and be part of a solid team.
WHY IS FIEGE A GOOD MATCH FOR YOU?
I enjoy working here very much. In FIEGE, I have found an amazing employer and I really enjoy doing my job, also because I have a great team behind me – colleagues who, together with me at this department, work to make our customers happy.
IF YOU HAD AN ACQUAINTANCE THINKING ABOUT APPLYING FOR A JOB HERE, WOULD YOU ADVISE HIM OR HER TO DO IT?
DO YOU SEE GOOD DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN YOUR FIELD OF ACTIVITY?
I am the best example of this. I started out as a forklift driver. Now, I am a shift leader. I have no idea what awaits me here: Where will I go? Are there new customers? Will I be able to head a larger team at some point? There are so many opportunities here at FIEGE. That’s why I’m genuinely happy that I can work here.
- I enjoy working here very much, also because I have a great team behind me.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE WITH YOU ON YOUR TEAM?
At the moment my team consists of roughly 35 employees.
ARE YOU INVOLVED WHEN IT COMES TO THE DEPARTMENT AND THE TEAM?
The Management asks us how we could best do things. Currently, we are involved in the various construction projects at our branch. We have a say when it comes to completing the project as fast as possible and enabling our employees the most convenient way to work. They are good in that way. We experience deep appreciation.
WHAT DO YOU DO PERSONALLY TO SWITCH OFF FROM WORK?
I like a trip to the sauna over the weekend and swim a lot, to balance work.
DO YOU EVER EXPERIENCE CONFLICT HERE? HOW ARE THINGS REGARDING YOUR FAMILY?
At 30 you seem to have somewhat passed your hey days. I am currently house hunting with my partner. We are looking into spending our future together: house, marriage, children – the lot.
