When youngsters living in a difficult social environment have a hard time finding a traineeship, or experience difficulties during their apprenticeship, the “Plus 1” project helps. Plus 1 creates new and additional apprenticeship places for disadvantaged youths. During the apprenticeship, the youths enjoy intensive support if they do not have a trusting attachment figure. The project staff assist the youth in successfully completing their training and furnish them with the necessities for an independent professional career.

In a first step, the Josef Fiege Foundation helped to establish and restore the building used by Project Plus 1. After that, the initial start-up costs were footed and later, concrete apprenticeship places were supported over the course of several years, using funds from the Josef Fiege Foundation.
 
 
   
 
Practical practicability.
 
A solid theoretical education with major practical relevance forms an ideal preparation for leadership tasks within the entire spectrum of logistics. At the Institute of Logistics and Facility Management of Münster’s University of Applied Sciences, students also enjoy interdisciplinary training. The scientific content of the courses conveys the knowledge that is in demand in real life.

Through the Josef Fiege Foundation the logistics company Fiege contributes towards financing the endowed chair while at the same time introducing contents from entrepreneurial practice into the curricula.
 
   
 
Life values.
 
A hospice accommodates fatally ill people, who can not be healed, nor can their affliction be brought to a hold. These people have a limited life expectancy only.

The hospice is a place where the seriously or terminally ill receive intensive, loving care and are looked after by qualified individuals. Even after the death of the relative, the members of the family and friends are in good hands with the staff of the hospice.

The Josef Fiege Foundation provides funds to the hospice, to ensure the proper accompaniment and care of the sick without outer burdens.
