When youngsters living in a difficult social environment have a hard time finding a traineeship, or experience difficulties during their apprenticeship, the “Plus 1” project helps. Plus 1 creates new and additional apprenticeship places for disadvantaged youths. During the apprenticeship, the youths enjoy intensive support if they do not have a trusting attachment figure. The project staff assist the youth in successfully completing their training and furnish them with the necessities for an independent professional career.
In a first step, the Josef Fiege Foundation helped to establish and restore the building used by Project Plus 1. After that, the initial start-up costs were footed and later, concrete apprenticeship places were supported over the course of several years, using funds from the Josef Fiege Foundation. |
