Back to nature.
To protect nature and the environment and to raise awareness about the impact of a changing climate for mankind is indispensable in today's world.
To campaign for a sound environment means to assume responsibility for one's own actions and to support measures that benefit the sustenance and protection of the environment. The Josef Fiege Foundation provides funds to environmental projects in order to lastingly promote the conservation of nature and to put a stop to the advancing climate change.
Examples of environmental projects that were sponsored:
Friends of the Tiergarten Worms e.V. zoo
With a EUR 3,000 donation the Josef Fiege Foundation supported the construction of a zoo school in Worms, which was inaugurated on 16th September 2009 in the presence of Michael Suden, representatives of the City of Worms, the Land of Rhineland Palatinate as well as Freundeskreis Tiergarten e. V..
On an area of 200 square metres which provides space for up to 45 people, young nature lovers have since been able to obtain information about topics that relate to nature.
Haus der Natur - House of Nature
With the aim of bringing regional nature closer to children and youths and to evoke their enthusiasm for nature conservation, the Josef Fiege Foundation is acting in concert with the House of Nature - Biological Station of Rhein-Kreis Neuss e. V..

With the help of this generous donation the House of Nature was able to complete two projects: On the one hand the nature conservation project titled "Schlangen im Busch"(snakes in the bush) was called to life, which with the help of practical visual aids, such as gathered snake skins, presents information to children and youths about the snake species endemic exclusively to the Rhine-Kreis Neuss area. A further project that was implemented was the "Obstwiesen Initiative", or orchard initiative. This initiative, based on the example of an orchard grown exclusively for the project in Knechtsteden near Dormagen, teaches children and youths a nature-minded, combined use of cultivated pasture with the cultivation of fruits.
